Best time to visit Kasauli

Kasauli is pleasant almost all year. March to June is ideal for escaping the heat, and October to February is cool and clear. It rarely gets heavy snow.

How to reach Kasauli

Kasauli is about 60 km from Chandigarh (around 2 hours) and about 300 km from Delhi (6 to 7 hours). Kalka railway station is about 35 km away.

Gilbert Trail: An easy forest walk along the ridge with views over the valley.
Monkey Point: A hilltop Hanuman temple inside the Air Force area, open to visitors with ID.
Christ Church: A 19th-century church in the heart of the town.
Sunset Point: Evening views over the plains towards Chandigarh.
Solan: The 'mushroom city' with the Shoolini temple and old breweries.
Chail: Palace, wildlife sanctuary and one of the highest cricket grounds.

Good to know: Monkey Point is inside an Air Force station and closes on some days. Carry a photo ID, and phones and cameras may not be allowed inside.
