About Shimla trips

Our office is in Shimla and we run our own hotel, Snow Castle in Kufri, so you deal with a local team rather than a call centre. Every package includes the hotel, a private cab, breakfast and dinner, sightseeing and pickup from Delhi or Chandigarh.

Best time to visit Shimla

December to February for snow at Kufri and Narkanda, March to June to escape the plains heat, and September to November for clear Himalayan views. Christmas and New Year week sells out early, so book a few weeks ahead.

How to reach Shimla

Shimla is about 115 km from Chandigarh (3 to 4 hours) and about 350 km from Delhi (7 to 8 hours). The Kalka–Shimla toy train, a UNESCO World Heritage line, takes around 5 to 6 hours from Kalka if you want the scenic way.

Places to see in Shimla

Mall Road and the Ridge: Christ Church, Scandal Point and the walk most people remember Shimla for.
Jakhoo Temple: The Hanuman temple at the highest point of the town, with a ropeway or a steep walk.
Kufri: Snow and horse rides in winter, the Himalayan Nature Park and Mahasu Peak views.
Narkanda and Hatu Peak: A quieter snow point 60 km from Shimla, surrounded by apple orchards.
Chail: The old summer capital of Patiala with its palace and a famous high-altitude cricket ground.
Mashobra and Naldehra: Pine forests and a golf course close to town, good for a slow half day.

Good to know: Cars are not allowed on the upper Mall Road, so plan to walk the town centre. Our drivers drop you at the nearest point and pick you up again.

How many days do I need for Shimla?

Two nights covers Shimla and Kufri. Three nights lets you add Narkanda or Chail without rushing.

Does Shimla get snow?

The town gets a few snowfalls between late December and February. Kufri and Narkanda, higher up, get more and stay white for longer.

Can I combine Shimla with Manali?

Is the toy train included?

Not by default, because tickets sell out fast. Tell us your date and we try to book it, then the cab meets you at Shimla station.
